Antique Victorian Eagle and Lion Frame Original Soldier Picture
This victorian picture frame retains the original picture and glass. The picture is of a young soldier standing at attention. The picture is in black and white and it appears he is standing on some sort of fur.
The frame is a large heart shape. The bottom of the Victorian frame has a roaring lion. The top has an eagle with its wings spread and it talons grasping the frame. There is a lot of symbolism expressed in this Victorian frame.
The picture frame stands on fish tail legs and the edges of the heart are decorated with a braided effect.
The back is impressed with " RD558348". Measures 10 inches tall with a width of 7 1/2 inches. With the stand open the depth is 4 inches if you wish to set it on a shelf. Heavy silvertone frame, I am not sure of the metal, it is not silver. The glass has horizontal scratch 2 inches long. Victoriana collectors and those who decorate in the Victorian style will love this true, rare, authentic picture frame.
