Lace Up Leather Boots, Vintage Go Go, 1971, Hunger Games
They are size 7 1/2 Medium. Vintage knee high boots. Very much like the heroines boots in "Hunger Games".
If there was any way, any way at all that I could squeeze my feet into these, I'd never, ever part with them. They don't tell you that your feet will grow during pregnancy (and your eyes will change, too).
They don't make 'em like this anymore. I wish I knew who made them, the label inside where the foot rests is completely worn away. I am pretty sure they were made in the USA. The leather is very thick, 3 or 4 times thicker than leather in boots made today. There is no lining, there is no need for lining. The back seam is finished with a thick, woven cotton tape. The top and grommets for the laces are faced with a strip of smooth leather.
I wore them a lot, but they are still in great shape. I took very good care of them, they were the most expensive boots I ever owned. Crepe soles with sort of a stacked, low heel. There are a few wear marks on the leather and if you'd like to see more pictures, I am happy to send them to you and answer any questions. The leather lining that holds the grommets has a few cracks here and there, nothing to worry about,it's on the inside, still sturdy. These are over 40 years old!!
I had a little help with the photo shoot, the neighbor kitty, Moriarty.
They will look great on you, you don't have to be a Hippy Peace Freak to appreciate them!
