Carved Celluloid Necklace, Art Nouveau 1900's

The "chain" is absolutely fascinating. It's a very fine cord or thread, 3 strands, woven and knotted to make the most intricate patterns. There are diamond shaped sections and around the back, well it's hard to describe, I hope the pictures will tell the story.

In remarkable, antique condition, with slight fading in places on the thread.

The necklace is 30" long, a flapper length sautoir, and the pendant drops another 4 1/4". The pendant itself is 2" north to south, and I'm sure this was made to imitate the look of Ivory. It is carved on both sides.
