Prystal bakelite necklace, vintage.
There is nothing like the patina of old prystal bakelite. It simply glows and changes constantly with the light. This necklace is a combination of lime juice and marbled spinach beads, with a large, lime juice, Art Deco zipper pull.
It can be worn as long, as a sautoir, or wrapped twice around the neck. It measures 44" long, with the zipper pull drop adding another 1 & 1/2".
Yes, I made this necklace from two, different vintage Bakelite necklaces. I used to make a lot of jewelry 25 years ago, before I had children. To tell the truth, I was shocked when I looked at this, it's hand knotted. I didn't think I knew how to do that. I must have guessed at it, and it actually looks good. The last knot could have been hidden better, but that is easily fixed with a little crimping bead and I will find one.
A unique, one of a kind piece!
