Vintage Lace Peignoir Set, White Cotton Nightgown & Jacket
Hand finished slits (like buttonholes) go around the jacket at the waist for weaving a ribbon belt. That original ribbon was not in place, so I added one I had on hand so you could see the effect. Scads of detail and lace on the jacket, pink satin roses on the sleeves and closures. There is a complicated handkerchief hem all trimmed in even more lace. I tried to iron the jacket in a couple places, so you could see it better in the pictures, but I lack the skill, I gave up ironing decades ago, too dangerous.
It is in remarkable condition, the ribbon is worn, but easy to replace. Everything else looks pretty mint. I found a couple tiny, faint rust spots, hard to see, really had to hunt for them. I don't think it was worn very much and someone took very good care of it. It was a prized possession. The gown or slip could be worn as a dress, yes, it is a bit sheer, but look at those lace straps and neckline! WOW!
Gown - Bust 37" Could be made smaller by tightening the ribbon, Waist 40" and Hips 47" Length from shoulder to hem 36" Jacket - Bust 50" Length from shoulder to hem 25".
