American sterling silver large berry or casserole serving spoon in the Corinthian pattern by George W. Shiebler, designed by John Polhemus and patented 1855.
This fabulous spoon has a gilt, scalloped edge, fluted bowl and is 9" long, weighing 79 grams or 2.5 ozs. Troy. It has a period script monogram D on the back of the handle.
Monogrammed as described above, the soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
