American sterling silver sugar spoon in a very unusual reverse twist handle pattern by William B. Durgin Silversmiths, c. 1880, having, on the back of the handle, a period script monogram: L.H.A.
Replacements catalogs this scarce pattern as DUS22.
It has a gilt, scalloped bowl and is 6" long, weighing 27 grams.
Monogrammed as described above, the soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
The excellent original condition and clear detail, with no removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
