Princess Preserve Spoon Polhamus Shiebler 1874 Sterling SIlver

American sterling silver preserve or small berry/casserole spoon in the Princess pattern by John Polhamus, Design PAtent # 7585 July 21.1874.

Although later produced by George W. Shiebler, this is an early Polhamus piece.

The brite cut, elongated, scalloped edge bowl has it original gilding. The entire spoon shows no wear and has a wonderful original finish.

Weighing 64 grams or 2 ozs. Troy, the spoon is 8 1/2" long.

The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no monograms, removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.

The soft, warm, original antique finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
