Glass Tucker car by Boyd's Crystal Art Glass, only manufactured in a series of 30 different colors starting in 1989, and ending with retirement of the mould in 1994. Car bears the third mark for manufacture from 1988 to 1993 (B in diamond with horizontal lines on top and bottom). This version of the Tucker automobile is in Alexandrite glass, which was manufactured in 1993. This glass will change color from purple to blue. Due to the presence of Neodymium oxide (Nd²O³) in the glass, the glass appears lilac in natural sunlight or yellow artificial light, and smokey blue in fluorescent/white light.
This car was purchased on a recent picking trip because of the Alexandrite glass and awesome shape. A super collectible piece that changes color!
