Vintage Boy Scout NRA Marksman Medal and Patches

Fresh from a recently acquired estate collection of Boy Scout items. Circa 1960 NRA 50 Ft. Marksmanship medal and patches in fantastic original condition. Medal is for Marksman and has one "First Class" bar for the level above Marksman. Patches are for Pro-Marksman, Marksman, and Marksman First Class levels. Each patch is a 3" round, cut edge. According to one Scouting source, when he was a boy these patches and levels were earned at summer camps by Boy Scouts by shooting and collecting targets. Pro-Marksman required 10 targets with a score over 30 (of a possible 50), Marksman required 10 targets with a score over 35, and Marksman First-Class required ten targets with a score over 40.

NRA medal(ONE)can be worn on the scout uniform because it is a program used by Scout camps, but consult your Scout Executive if there are questions.

Awesome example of a shooting medal and patches earned by a boy scout 50 years ago!

Medal and patch are on an index card, protected with PolyPropylene (cut down comic book bag)with holes punched for medal's pin, and patch held in place with a piece of tape on the back.
