Antique 19 Century Hand Fan with Case
This wonderful Chinese-style hand fan measures 12 x 22". It was made around 1880-1890, in England. It has lovely hand painted white and blue flowers with a flying insect on an ecru silk satin leaf. It has gilt embossed wood sticks and guards. The fan has a small amount of fraying on the leaf edges. It comes with a stunning gilded frame with a decorative bow carved into the frame and lined with yellow velvet. This fan was described and dated by Betsy Smith, a well-known restorer and appraiser of beautiful fans.
