American Art - Paul Burns: Too Close for Comfort", Original Illustration Art

33 x 54cm gouache and watercolor on 46 x 64 cm board, signed top left, NOT FRAMED. Very good condition. With a preparatory drawing gouache for the same story and a copy of the original magazine. From the Estate of Charles Martignette.

Published in Colliers, Oct 16, 1953. Nancy reads an ad for a cottage to Don and comments: 'Doesn't it sound absolutely nifty?"

A delightful scene by Paul Callan Vincent Burns (1910 - 1990), an influential illustrator and portrait artist, and the author of The Portrait Painter's Problem Book (Watson-Guptill, 1979). Having a preliminary version and the published version makes this a proper museum piece!
