Great French Art Nouveau/Deco Bed With Cherubs

Here is a great antique French bed....a great example of the French attention to detail and fine execution that we all admire and love. I bought this great bed over 20 years ago in Paris, France and had it shipped to the United States. For me, it is a transitional piece between Art Nouveau and Art Deco. The painting of cherubs is very Nouveau. The black and gold detail paint accents are an Art Deco design. Made from iron, it has brass trim detailing. The main paint is a soft light gray color with a deeper gray accent. The detail accent designs are black and gold. I would date the bed as circa 1910.

Condition: Overall excellent. Needs a cleaning. I would also probably polish the bed with a paste butchers wax, but you may have another preference. One porcelain roller is missing.

Size: 46" wide, 77" long

This is one of 4 beds I will be listing this week. I bought these beds 20 years ago when the dollar was strong against the Franc (now Euro). Today, it would be impossible to buy these beds and have them shipped for the prices I am selling them for. It is a great opportunity.

I live 30 minutes north of Hudson, the antique capital of New York for dealers and decorators. It would be great if you picked the bed/beds up. However, I will help you arrange shipping, should it be necessary.

I recently shipped an antique iron bed by Greyhound Bus to Mississippi. It took one week and arrived just fine. It was reasonable, too!
