Northeast American Indian Potato Stamped Basket, 19th c.

Here is a beautifully patterned, very old, woven splint ash basket. The basket is Northeast American Indian. It is 19thc. The basket features a rectangular base. All sides are decorated with the beautiful original potato-stamped design. The design is still very prominent on all sides. The basket has a gorgeous aged patina. This beautiful antique Indian basket would make a great addition to your primitive or Americana collection.

Size: Base: 13" x 8", Height 6"

Condition: The basket has breaks that I have photographed. The top of the basket needs someone to repair the wrapping. The basket pulls together easily when encouraged at the top where the wrapping has come undone. It would make a great shelf piece. I had it displayed in my kitchen on top of my cabinets where the breaks were not visible.
