Majolica Jardinière and Pedestal Base
Continental Majolica Jardinière and Pedestal Base, late 19th century, polychrome enamel decorated with shells and scrolled foliates. Shades of brown and turquoise on a cobalt ground. This is one outstanding jardinière and pedestal, standing 53 1/2" tall it makes quite a statement. The jardinière is 16 1/2" high and is of 19 1/4" from side to side across the top, and is 1/2" thick. The pedestal is 37" high and has a 16" x 16" base. There are no marking as to the maker on either piece. I have posted 2 photos of the jardinière, there are 3 of the cobalt panels separated by the brown panels. Any loss of color you might see in the photos is due to lighting, there is no color loss of any kind.
Condition: There is a 1" x 1/2" flake on the inside lip of the jardinière (see photo). There is crazing on both the jardinière and the pedestal. No cracks, or damage other than what I have listed. Jardinière has a real nice ring to it when tapped. Colors are very vibrant and attractive.
Shipping: This wonderful jardinière and pedestal will be professionally crated, palletized and shipped by common carrier. I have used this shipper in the past and they are excellent at what they do. Full insurance will be included in the shipping price. Will ship to the continental US only.
