Sterling Tomato Server – J. B. Knowles – Apollo – Ca. 1892

This large and ornate sterling silver tomato server was made by J. B. Knowles Co. and was first introduced in 1892. The pattern name is Apollo.

The lovely cut-out work is done as scrolls with lily-of-the-valley flowers. The server is monogrammed on the front of the handle and the back has dates for 1853-1903 ( a 50th anniversary or birthday).

The condition is very good with NO breaks, repairs and there is only minor surface wear due to use. The retailer's name is on the back of the handle – E. G. Hines.

The tomato server measures 7 & ¾ inches long and 3 inches across on the flat surface.

A handsome serving piece for any dining table.
