Vintage Yellow Gold Large Shell Cameo Brooch Pin Estate Jewelry

This large, solid 9k yellow gold shell cameo has 3 wonderfully carved figures that may be depicting elements of the Trojan war. The main figures are the profiles of a woman and a helmeted Greek soldier. Below is a beautifully carved cloud with cupid holding a torch in one hand and an arrow in the other. There is a spear in the background.

The brooch is 2 1/2 inches long by 2 inches wide. The shell itself measures 2 1/8th inches long by 1 3/4 inches wide. There is a loop at the top of the bezel which can be converted to a pendant bail by adding a jump ring. The cameo pin closes securely with a "C" clasp. The mounting has a few dings in the gold but it is in otherwise very good vintage condition and would make a lovely addition to any cameo collection.
