Vintage 14K Gold Ruby Diamond Turtle Tortoise Brooch Pin

Overview:

This incredible, solid 14k yellow and white gold tortoise pin is an amazing piece of work.

The tortoise's back is covered in yellow gold rosettes, each with a round faceted ruby prong set in the center. The rubies are very clean, well cut and total 2.80 cts.

Nestled in between the upper most rosettes are 6 prong set, round brilliant cut diamonds. There are also 2 bezel set diamond eyes. The diamonds are all set in white gold and are VS2-SI1 clarity, H color and total 0.60 cts.

The brooch has one locking closure and the other pin stem is open. This piece may have been designed as a fur clip. It is in wonderful vintage condition and weighs a hefty 25.1 grams.
