French, late 19th century ladies purse made with straw braids, beautifully patinated reed trim, leather straps and brass hardware. This fabulous purse is finely crafted with wonderful details such as the brass studs on the leather trim, brass bun feet, brass hardware clasps and the leather handle is attached with brass hardware. The brass hardware is embossed E. Colin, Nantes. Nantes is the capital of Western Loire, is a wealthy city as well as the largest seaport in France. Having survived for over 100 years, this beautiful purse shows some wear with braiding missing in two areas as shown in the photos and a split in the leather above the right clasp. This purse with its beautiful patina makes a beautiful display piece. Measures: 9"H x 6"D x 10 3/4" W
