The Complete Works of James Whitcomb Riley, 6 Vols., 1913

This set, The Complete Works of James Whitcomb Riley, is the Biographical Edition, by Bobbs Merrill, published in 1913. Each volume, 5 1/2" X 8", covered in brown pebbled leatherette with gold lettering, has about 450 pages, and contains all the poems, and prose, written in the folksy style of Riley, in chronological order, starting in 1870. He was known as "The Hoosier Poet", and is much loved in Indiana, his home. Many of his works were written in his midwest dialect. His most famous poems were "Little Orphan Annie", and "Raggedy Man". This set shows some wear on the covers, but all pages are tight, and even crisp.
