These Amate bark paintings are produced, by artisans, in the mountains of Guerrero, in the Mexican Highlands. They use bark as their canvas, and bright, almost neon, paint. This one features a large quadruped (horse?), all bright white, except for a purple eye, and purple protruding tongue. A bird, and flowers are also included in the composition. Painting is 11" X 14", and comes in its original hand carved 16" X 20" carved frame.
