Golden Childhood, Carl Hirsch, Constance Book and Art Pub. Co
This remarkable book, Golden Childhood, is full of poetry, and parables, with a distinctly Christian motif. Good deeds, and hard work abound. Thirty two 7 1/2" X 9 1/2" pages, printed in Germans, with 13 full page black and white, almost sepia tone, illustrations. It has many more illustrations, and four color plates, each with Victorian children playing with, or holding, dogs, kittens, or sheep. Every page is suitable for framing. None of the illustrations are attributed. The cover art shows a little girl reading to her three attentive dogs. This volume shows appropriate wear, but all pages are intact, with no tears, creases, or marks.
