French Floral Enamelware Coffee Pot early 1900s Handpainted Decor

This beautiful coffee pot, dates from the early 1900s (if not before!) and has all the charm associated with an early piece of French enamelware. The shape of the pot is one such feature, as is sculpted form on the gooseneck spout. Advanced age is also evidenced by the riveted side handle and the artfully hand-painted motifs on both sides of the pot and the lid, in this case, of wild blackberries and branches. This is a very uncommon décor amongst enameled pieces.

The coffee pot measures just slightly under 8ʺ high and about 10¼ʺ from tip of spout to handle, with a bottom diameter of 4½ʺ narrowing to just over 3¼ʺ at the top.

Unfortunately this pot has collected some bumps and bruises throughout its many years. Enamel loss can be found on the handle, spout, lid, and on one side of the pot, all of which is shown in photos. Despite this wear, the pot is solidly water tight, the coloring on décor remains unaffected and this fine piece retains a certain elegance, which can only be earned with the years.
