Superb 17th Century Italian Master painting, highly attributed to the Italian Master Michelangelo Merisi , also called Caravaggio( 1562-1609), With a label on the front of the frame, stating " la mort de cleopatre - school of caravaggio 1562-1609". Translated: " the death of Cleopatra - school of caravaggio-1562-1609" Directly from a French Paris' estate collection, with many antique Italian paintings. On the back an old written label: stating ( translated from French): " the death of Cleopatra, old panel with marking 44 x 57cm. School of Michelangelo Merisi ( Caravaggio) 1562-1609 or Ribera Jusepe ( 1588-1656)" On the back of the panel, there is a panel's makers mark, seems to be " FJ" or something like that.
