Vintage 14k Yellow Gold Opal Doublet Ring Size 7

Beautiful Australian white opal doublet with great play of intense green and red pit fire. The stone measures 15 x 7.5 mm. The opal itself measures 1.5mm thick with the black backing it measures 4mm. There is a horizontal craze line At about 10 o'clock to 2 o'clock. (Depending on what position the ring is held) The line is not noticeable unless closely scrutinized or under 10x. The black backing totally stabilizes the stone. The ring is priced accordingly. Please look at photo's close. The mounting is a very unique lost wax casting with floral designs on either side of the setting. This wonderful ring comes from our estate case circa 1940's or earlier. This piece has been well taken care of. This is an excellent collection piece. The ring is size 7, stamped 14k, weighs 5.3 grams. The shank at bottom measures 3mm. Satisfaction guaranteed.
