Turquoise elephant sterling silver necklace - Jasper Pearls - Double strand - Bohemian Dreams - InVintageHeaven
The inspiration for this creation started with the vintage stone pendant. It is a a big piece that has a carved elephant (both sides) topping a teardrop shaped green turquoise cabochon. It is set in sterling silver and has a great ethnic appeal to it. I believe the elephant may be carved from bone, but I am not certain. He has great detail including the uprising of his trunk with denotes good luck!
Taking my color palette from the pendant, I beaded this with multiple strands in natural earth-tone colors of green, brown and beiges. Some of the stones include picture jasper, ruby in zoisite, pearls and more!
"Specialized Balanced Bead Technique" - At first glance my beading appears to be a random selection of beads. It is much more time consuming as it is more carefully chosen to balance both color and size within each bead-strand as well as the other strands.
It is finished off with a sterling clasp by the Karen Hill Tribe from Chiang Mai in Northern Thailand. The toggle is handmade by the Karen Hill Tribe people using methods passed down for generations.

I have combined new and vintage pieces in this creation. I am not an expert on vintage jewelry, but I do buy and sell what I love! Since these items are vintage, they may have a wonderful aged patina and are not meant or expected to look brand new. I treasure their imperfections as part of their charm and history.
