This offering is of a small Italian porcelain box decorated with blooming branches flowers in a soft orange color. The box is essentially a rectangle with curved cutout corners. It measures 3 ¾" long by 2 ¼" wide and 1 5/8" thick. As you can see from the photos the floral design begins on the front face of the bottom of the piece and extends over the lid in an asymmetrical fashion. The box is marked on the bottom with the capital "N" and the 5-pointed crown mark often associated with either Richard Ginori and/or Capodimonte porcelain. It also has the words "Made In Italy" indicating that it was made for export. I suspect that this piece is not terribly old, but it certainly is a pretty addition to someone's small box collection. It would make a nice container for one's tiny dresser or desk items as well. It is in very good used condition with no chips, dings or cracks or other visible damage.
