Vintage Bronze-Clad Spelter Seal Bookends

Here is a beautiful pair of vintage bookends made of bronze-clad spelter. They are in the image of eared seals (sea lions).

Both bookends feature highly realistic seals which are comprised of spelter and finished with a lustrous coat of bronze.

As you can see, the seals are in a fun position with their little noses turned upward.

Each beautiful and dimensional seal sits on a heavy bronze-clad base while an oblong panel at the back creates the perfect background.

The bookends are quite substantial and will keep books perfectly in place while adding a touch of whimsy and elegance to your décor.

Both pieces include dark brown felt lining on the base to prevent scratching to themselves or underlying surfaces. The lining shows a bit of expected wear.

There are areas on each bookend where the bronze finish has worn partially away.

You will also notice a few minor dark marks and spots of minor discoloration.

However, these charming bookends remain in good vintage condition overall.

These are sure to add great warmth and cheer to your library.

Measurements: Each bookend is 5 1/2" long, 3 1/4" tall and 3" deep, (2 lbs., 3 oz each) Total weight: 4 lbs., 6 oz.
