Highly Collectible Western Electric Model 202 Vintage Telephone

This highly collectible vintage Western Electric Company Bakelite telephone will make a sensational addition to any collection or décor.

This is the 202 model and is a widely sought-after by collector's in-the-know.

The 202's are made of an alloy metal. The "finish" is black enamel with a deliberate matte finish. Authentic and unrestored 202's have the original cowhide suede covering the base plate. This telephone has the original finish (not repainted) and retains its original base covering.

The dial (model 4H) is very rare and known for its rich, classic "clicking" sound.

The dial on this particular phone is in good condition and still retains the "clicking" sound.

As you can see, the black capital letters on the white dial-plate (model 149a) below are printed in bold, black letters while the numbers are a vibrant shade of red.

The original metal centerpiece is still securely affixed to the dial, though it is missing the original manufacturer's label.

This phone has the original F1 handset, which features a nice embossed maker's mark on the underside of the handle.

The mark reads "Bell System, Manufactured By Western Electric Company, F1".

A rubber-encased, coiling telephone cord emanates from the end of the mouthpiece and attached to the back of the phone-base.

The original electrical cord comes originates at the reverse of the base and terminates in a frayed end.

You will notice that the base (Model D1) is quite heavy, giving the telephone great balance and stability.

As you can see, the telephone exhibits some expected wear, including some rust on the underside of the base.
