Gorgeous Multi-Colored Rare Cordé Handbag With Lucite Catch - 1940's
This handbag dates from the early to mid 1940's.
Unlike the more commonly-seen black cordé purses, this beauty is rendered in a veritable rainbow of blues, burgundies, yellows and mossy-greens.
These multi-colored Corde bags are hard to find and we search and search and when we find one, we snap them up.
They are so pretty and timeless, they transcend all fashion eras and match any number of outfits.
You will notice that this handbag has a great size, measuring over 14 inches long.
The frame style design is topped off with a beautiful Lucite catch in a pretty shade of golden yellow.
You can see that the substantial Lucite component has a high-degree of translucency and shows only a few teeny flea-bite scratches.
Even the two long handles that emanate from the top of the bag are covered feature the same, colorful cordé design.
Inside, the handbag is lined with luxurious navy-blue satin grosgrain and features a wide zippered pocket perfect for all those smaller necessities.
A smaller, open pocket below this one will be ideal for cards and cash.
The bag even comes with a darling little matching grosgrain coin purse.
While this beautiful handbag shows only a bit of expected wear, it remains in great vintage condition overall.
This is a great piece for spring or winter; you'll love the way it looks on and on display.
