Vintage Ostby Barton 14 Karat White Gold Ring with Red Garnet

With lustrous 14 karat white gold and bewitching red garnet, this ring is truly a marvelous example of the design duo's timeless style and craftsman ship.

The company's cofounder, Engelhart Cornelius Ostby, was lost with the sinking of the Titanic, and the value of his exceptional jewelry has since gone up due to its historical implications.

As you can see, the ring features a classically elegant, Art Nouveau style with a high filigree setting that tapers to a smooth band.

Each side of the tall setting features fine pierced ornamentation and includes delicate millegraine and hand-etching.

The under-gallery remains open; this lets light pass through the garnet allowing it to really sparkle and shine.

The blood-red garnet is almost one and a half carats and is held securely in place by tiny white-gold prongs at each corner.

A thin border of hand-etched chevrons surrounds the gem on the face.

You will find a mark stamped on the interior of the ring which reads "OB" for Ostby Barton as well as mark reading "14K".

The ring and stone have been professionally tested to ensure their quality and purity.

The lower band is only the slightest bit dented, though it difficult to see with the naked eye.

The white gold continues to shine brilliantly while the garnet shows little to no wear at all.
