Vintage Alligator Shaped Nutcracker in Cast Iron
We love great vintage pieces like this one, they bring a nice sense of warmth and retro charm to a collection or décor. This little gator would look great in a kitchen or on a mantle.
The nutcracker is comprised of two pieces of cast iron: the top of the alligator and the bottom. When the tail is lifted the mouth opens to reveal a row of pointy teeth. Another row of teeth on the top of the alligator’s mouth give him a truly “ferocious” look!
Deep criss-cross lines on the alligator’s back and tail make a great pattern of “scales”. Even his feet are rendered in excellent detail.
There is a cast mark on the underside of the nutcracker that reads “PAT 93675”.
There are some areas of wear and paint-loss visible on the alligator’s finish, but this is to be expected. Many collectors really enjoy that “aged-look”.
Overall, this gator remains in very good vintage condition.
