5-Piece Mint Condition Baccarat Crystal "Parme" Wine Goblet Set

This matching set of vintage mint-condition Baccarat water/wine goblets is truly a breathtaking example of the 200+ year old company's unparalleled style and quality.

The Baccarat Glass Company was founded in 1795 in the tiny village of Baccarat, some 250 miles east of Paris.

Surviving the French Revolution and even the Napoleonic Wars, Baccarat developed closely-guarded secret techniques to creating the finest glasswares.

It remains the foremost glass company in France and perhaps the world.

Each glass in this set of five boasts the timeless "Parme" retired pattern. Through a combination of cutting and etching, the glasses are as beautifully ornamented as they as perfectly manufactured.

The exterior of each bowl has been hand-etched with a swirling, stippled pattern characterized by pheasants and foliate scrolling.

Each aspect of the design is embellished with tiny stippled dots and small curvaceous lines giving it exquisite depth as well as texture.

The base of each bowl has been hand-cut with a deeply-incised repeating leaf pattern. This area of the glass is thicker than the paper-thin crystal near the rim.

This is truly a sign of the extraordinary craftsmanship that went into the making of each goblet.

As you can see, the stem of each goblet is quite substantial.

They are characterized by a large shoulder near the top that narrows before arriving at a very wide foot at the bottom while narrowing again under the bowl.

The underside of each foot is etched with the "Baccarat France" hallmark.

While every one of the five goblets has this permanently etched mark, two feature paper "Baccarat" stickers on the top of the foot.

These paper labels were used only during the 20th century.

We recommend storing fine glassware in a cool, dark place away from natural sunlight. It is perhaps most important to use your glasses.

Without occasional use, crystal stemware becomes dry and brittle. If you plan to use the crystal for only rare and special occasions, we recommend storing them with a small, open glass of water in your china cabinet.

As the water evaporates, it will help keep the goblets well-conditioned.

We are thrilled to say that each goblet in the set has never been used and remains in mint condition.

With proper care, these beauties are sure to delight for many years to come.

The crystal goblets remain in their original foam-lined Baccarat box.

They are extremely elegant, brilliant and sparkling.

Measurements: Each glass is 6 1/8" tall, Diameter of foot is 3", Diameter of rim is 3 ¾", Box is 15" long, 10 3/8" wide and 9" tall Each glass weighs 13 oz. Total weight of glasses in box: 6 lbs.
