Antique Tiffany & Co. Sterling Silver Vinaigrette Bottle
Ideal for a lady's chatelaine, a small length of chain emanates from the stopper. Complete with original dabbing-wand and perfectly preserved rubber gasket, the stopper remains in spectacular working condition.
The neck of the tiny bottle is where you will find all of the correct hallmarks, the first of which reads "Tiffany & Co." followed by "Germany" and "Sterling".
Charles Lewis Tiffany and John B. Young founded the now world-renowned Tiffany & Co. in the heart of New York City in 1837.
Despite the fact that America was in a deep economic recession, the company thrived, selling quality merchandise imported from India, Europe and the Orient.
This is why this particular bottle is marked for "Germany"; we believe it dates to approximately the 1930's.
The angular body of the bottle bears exquisite engine-turned decoration and continues to gleam brilliantly with little wear or patination.
Truly a thing of beauty is a joy forever, and this little darling would make an elegant gift or an excellent addition to your personal collection.
