This sensational vintage cigarette box is rendered in brilliant sterling silver and features a lot of dazzling details.
The box was manufactured by the renowned Peruvian silver company Camusso.
Founded in 1933, in Lima, Peru by Carlo Mario Camusso, the Camusso Silver Company continues to produce the finest in sterling dishware, gifts, and collectibles.
As you can see, the sterling box features a hinged lid with a wider base.
The base boasts a fine mitered edge and the interior is lined with fragrant cedar wood.
The edge of the lid is accented with a repeating "S-scroll" while the top features a beautifully hand-engraved Peruvian Coat of Arms.
As you can see, the right side of the coat of arms features a palm branch while the right side exhibits an oak laurel, representing victory and glory, respectively.
The escutcheon, or shield, consists of three elements featuring a vicuña (Peru's national animal), the cinchona tree and a cornucopia spilling coins at the bottom.
The crest is topped with a civic crown (a laurel of oak leaves woven to form a crown).
You will find the appropriate hallmarks stamped on the underside of the box, the first of which reads "Sterling".
This is followed by the number "925" and a the traditional Camusso flag trademark.
The final marks read "Camusso" and "Made in Peru".
Though it shows only the smallest amount of immaterial patination and a few very light surface scratches here and there, this beautiful box remains in outstanding vintage condition.
