Vintage Hattie Carnegie Ten Strand Rolo Chain Necklace
Hattie was a fashion entrepreneur based in New York City from the 1920’s to the 1960’s. Born in Vienna, Austria she was the second oldest of seven children.
Her company was a pioneer of the ready-to-wear lines for the high-end market. She introduced the “head-to-hem” boutique concept that paved the way for the future success of many other designers in America.
Hattie’s colorful clothing and ultra-chic costume jewelry, even today, are greatly sought after by fashion and jewelry collectors.
This super chic vintage necklace has ten strands of boxy gold-colored rolo chain which all hang at varying lengths; this gives makes the necklace lay beautifully on the neck. Some of the chains are different widths which adds even more textural and visual appeal.
The chains culminate at substantial goldtone components which join with a simple fold-over clasp. The reverse of the clasp exhibits the Hattie Carnegie hallmark placard.
With only the tiniest amount of darkening on the clasp and multi-strand components, this necklace is still in great vintage condition.
If it is boho chic, understated elegance, casual, or dress, this set will "become" the piece to finish the look.
It is the perfect piece to add to the wardrobe of collector's vintage designer jewelry cache.
