Rare Treasure Victorian 8K Rose Gold Jewel-Encrusted Locket

There isn't enough we can say about this locket. It is such a beautiful piece and looks amazing in person, on the neck, in the pictures....

This antique locket is the most gorgeous thing. The composition of the adornments, the gold, the size, weight and texture make this piece extraordinary. The quality is magnificent.

The lid is covered completely in concentric tiers of diamonds, garnets, tiny turquoise cabochons and a magnificent, bold single garnet at the center.

In total, there are 47 turquoise cabochons, 27 garnets and 41 diamonds. The colors of the stones are much richer than the photos display.

The brooch has very rich, deep, color correct stones. The turquoise stands out and creates great contrast with the other gems.

The large central garnet is faceted in the Dutch Rose cut (characterized by twenty-four triangular facets). The body of the locket is 8 karat rose gold (see the "333" hallmark on the back of the locket.)

The interior of the locket still features a very old, sepia-toned photo of a man and woman wearing distinctly Victorian garb.

The interior is remarkably clean and ready for your pictures.

Though the stones exhibit minor expected antique wear and the gold shows some scratching commensurate with its age, this impressive locket is in overall very good antique condition.

The pictures do not do this justice. It is just beautiful and a rare treasure to be sure.

If someone gave this to me as a gift, I would be squealing with delight at the top of my lungs. Please notice the size; it is a perfect sized locket.

It is a head turner and the wearer will be very proud to own such a treasure.
