ca 1927 Lovely 9K Rose Gold Ruby Gypsy Ring Fully Hallmarked
The setting is frequently referred to as a gypsy or “star”-setting; it is typically characterized by stones being flush with their surrounding metal.
Exceptional fine detailing is present on the face and upper shanks of the ring and acts as a beautiful complement to the lovely rubies.
There are a number of hallmarks stamped on the interior of the band, the first of which is the Sovereign’s crown (the symbol of the England); this is adjacent to the number “.375”, for 9K gold. Next is a small crown assay mark for Sheffield and finally a lower-case “k”, for the year 1927.
The gems are mounted with open backs so the sparkle and clarity of the stones reflect more light.
The rubies are bright and sparkling and the gold mount really accentuates the rubies.
The ring is in remarkable condition considering its age, exhibiting virtually no darkening and only some minor flea-bite scratches.
With old-world elegance, this ring will make a great addition to your antique jewelry collection.
