Rare Hattie Carnegie Earrings, Necklace, Bracelet Set with Green and Blue Cabochons

Hattie Carnegie was a fashion entrepreneur based in New York City from the 1920's to the 1960's. Born in Vienna, Austria she was the second oldest of seven children.

Her company was a pioneer of the ready-to-wear lines for the high-end market. She introduced the "head-to-hem" boutique concept that paved the way for the future success of many other designers in America.

Hattie's colorful clothing and ultra-chic costume jewelry, even today, are greatly sought after by fashion and jewelry collectors.

All the metals used are a highly-polished silver color, though there is some minor wear and one or two flea-bite scratches.

The necklace ends in a long extender chain and simple hook clasp, making it very easily adjustable.

At the end of the chain there are three small pendants resembling upside-down tear drops. The reverse of the necklace features the traditional oblong Hattie Carnegie maker's mark.

The beautiful matching bracelet features thirteen prong-set cabochons in varying shades of green and blue.

The surrounding metal is the same silver color as the necklace; the bracelet ends in a secure box clasp, adorned with two tiny, ice-blue rhinestones.

A safety chain measuring 2" provides extra security during wear. The reverse of the piece has been clearly stamped with the Hattie Carnegie maker's mark.

The matching earrings are two large oblong cabochons and two smaller round ones are closely arranged and set on a comfortable hinge clip; both clips feature the stamped "Carnegie" name.

Every piece in the set shows some amount of wear; some stones exhibit minor clouding and one or two areas of minuscule chipping where the stones meet the setting house. These are so small, you need to put a strong eye to them.

The silver-colored metals do feature some wear and minor scratching but we are pleased to say that, overall, the set is in very good condition.
