Beautiful Black Cloth Doll from Poland with Paper Mache Head

She is so unique and unusual, featuring wonderfully vibrant colors and patterns, and a darling little face.

The doll's body is made of soft cotton fabric. Her vibrant floral blouse and shoes are part of the body while the skirt is separate though tacked to the body. The pleating is loose at the back of the skirt, though it remains in good condition otherwise.

We do not know what the interior material is, but she has good weight to her and her body is tight albeit, not solid.

She wears a headwrap (permanently attached) that matches her skirt. There are two bright orange plastic "earrings" attached to the ear-area of the headwrap. We love how a tuft of her curly black hair sticks out on the top.

The head is made of rigid papier-mâché and features fantastic hand-painted details. As you can see, she wears a simple knotted necklace.

Lastly, a printed white mark on the back of her right leg reads "Poland".

With only one or two loose threads here and there, this sweet little doll remains in fantastic vintage condition.
