Quirky Vintage Cast Iron Figural "Pelican" Pipe Rest

The pelican has always been considered a noble bird, and has served as the inspiration for many legends, poems, and myths.

Originally intended to be a pipe holder , this darling cast-iron pelican holds his beak wide open, but we're sure he could be used to hold anything at all. He's a heavy little cutie for his size.

His casting features a lot of intricate details, making the feathers on his wings and big webbed feet really stand out.

His exterior is further decorated with shimmering bronze paint while the smaller valleys and crevices are filled with lustrous green.

The inside of the pelican's mouth is bright red, complementing the metal perfectly.

The exterior shows a bit of wear but, overall, this little pelican is in very good vintage condition

He is definitely a smile maker.

Measurements: Pelican is 6 1/4" tall and 4 3/4" from his back to the tip of the beak. The mouth measures 1 1/4" wide by 3" deep. The base is 2 3/4" diameter. Weight: 1 ¾ lbs.
