Spelter Art Nouveau Jewel Casket with Egyptian Revival Motif

It's made from skillfully cast spelter (an alloy composed mainly of zinc) and features an array of astounding Egyptian Revival-inspired designs.

A rich patina has coated the gold-colored exterior over the years.

The darkening is spotty and slightly uneven, but this gives a truly lovely vintage look.

The interior of the box is lined with luxurious blush-pink silk; the lining has become slightly detached from the rim though this is an easy fix for a skilled restorer.

Finally, the underside of the casket features a criss-cross pattern with the number "103" at the center.

Despite the disclosed wear issues, this magnificent little jewelry box continues to serve as an exquisite representation of Art Nouveau style.
