This is a gorgeous little vintage evening bag. In the ever-stylish frame-bag style, the body features the most exquisite array of hand-applied bronze colored seed and tube beads in an elegant scalloped pattern.
The long, tubular handle is also covered entirely in shimmering bronze seed beads. The gold-colored frame is embellished with small plaques of mother-of-pearl. One of these is missing, though it could be easily replaced.
The interior of the bag is lined in lovely chocolate-brown satin and features the original silken manufacturer's tag which reads "Delill, Hand Made in Japan".
Delill began production of their fabulous handbags in September of 1941, and this wonderful little bag is a perfect example of their work. The Delill name was a combination of the founder's first names, Desire and Lilly.
Excluding the obvious issue with the mother-of-pearl clasp, this handbag is in otherwise very good vintage condition. It is wonderfully tactile and very elegant.
The color is rich and luxurious. Gorgeous!
