Eames-Era Large Torso Sculpture in Translucent Amber-Colored Resin
Its large size making it an ideal focal decorating piece.
The sculpture is a thrilling depiction of Eames-era style which tended to draw inspiration from classical themes and reimagine them with a more modern approach.
As you can see, the torso pays homage to Hellenistic realism, creating an anatomical study of a body in motion.
Unlike classic Greek sculpture which was typically rendered in fine white marble or bronze, this piece is cast in amber-colored resin.
Like amber, the resin has a translucent quality where the interior is slightly visible.
Inside, you can see that the resin is full of small inclusions and air pockets, which give it an incredibly dimensional look.
The exterior is characterized by hundreds of bold chisel marks with incredible linear texture. These were applied to the rough piece before making the resin cast.
The neck and underside of the base are very smooth, allowing the sculpture to easily stand alone.
With very few signs of age or wear, this breathtaking sculpture remains in outstanding vintage condition.
The piece will make a truly unique and rich décor accent. The piece stands on its own.
This magnificent art piece is a real head turner.
