Boxy Delill Handbag with Amber-Colored Beaded Embellishments
Behind the beads you can see that the body of the bag is covered in gold colored vinyl, making a gorgeous, complementary background for the beads.
The lower edge of the lid and upper edge of the box are accentuated by a braided pattern of brightly gold colored wire. Two silver colored brackets hold the gorgeous tortoise-finished, faux bakelite handle in place.
A matching flap, embellished with a stamped, gold colored frame with hinged, twisting clasp hold the lid securely shut.
The interior of the bag is lined with sumptuous copper colored lame and features the original silken manufacturer's tag which reads "Delill".
Delill started production of their fabulous handbags in September of 1941, the era from which this wonderful little evening likely comes.
The Delill name was a combination of the founder's first names, Desire and Lilly.
Though it exhibits some wear due to age and some very minor scratching, this handbag is in good vintage condition.
It has a slight "lean" to it when you look at it closely; however, it is not noticeable when carried. It is priced to consider this lean.
Give this wildly unique box-purse this holiday season or, better yet, keep it for your own vintage collection.
