A Unique Pendant Adorns Black Leather Bracelet with Bronze

Clearly the most distinctive feature of this bracelet is the Eastern charm image. I have had this charm for close to five years. I got it back when I first started using clear domes, because it had something clear over it. I got it online. It was used. I've always been enchanted by it, but felt it was too small for MY necklaces and I had not yet embraced bracelet designing.

I got out my magnifying glass and figured out what is going on under the clear (flat) top of this square. There appears to be a traditional Hindu figure in some kind of gold tone material who has four arms and seems to be swirling a scarf between all of them. The goldtone part of the charm is three dimensional. It sits on a black base and is sealed securely with the clear top which looks and feels like glass to me.

The bracelet is 8 inches. Changing the clasp could bring it down to 7.25".

I constructed the bracelet by threading four strands of black leather through one bronze tube bead and six bronze rings, three at each side of the tube. Then I did the four strand braiding technique till I reached the right length on each side. I didn't use any glue on the seven pieces of bronze in the middle.

When I was ready, I threaded three more bronze rings on each end and permanently cemented on solid bronze endcaps that all four leather strands fit into with a little encouragement. I did glue those and put some glue between the rings so they wouldn't slide down. Finally I added a long two part solid bronze clasp and the charm.

It would be terrific for you if it turned out the mysterious and joyous figures is real 24K gold, but I don't think it could be. The metal base, which you can see in the picture of the rear, looks like very low grade plated silver. I just don't see it being put with precious metal, but who knows for sure. You'd have to destroy the lovely charm to find out. I don't think anyone will want to do that.

If you take the charm off you can call this a surfer bracelet, but don't wear it in the water. If you don't want the charm, let me know and I'll discount the bracelet and keep the charm for another item.

I appreciate your attention and time visiting Dolphin Designs.
