A great deal of thought and footwork went into the enhancing of these signed early 20th century, ruby to clear, cut to etched, font lamps, probably made originally for whale oil or kerosene. They were drilled and converted into matching, electric table lamps, by the Towne Brass Co. of Baltimore, Md. while they were on Mulberry St., and before they moved to Saratoga St. They did an expert job and I suspect this was done before 1960. The lamps themselves are either American late 19th century, or early twentieth century Bohemian Glass popular in the Deco period, believe it or not. Both lamps are armed "Towne Brass Co. On the bottom. The lamp shades are NOT included as they make shipping too expensive. The lamps themselves depict a running deer in a forest, with a floral motif, very finely done. Each lamp stands 30.5" with the shades on, and are 29" with shades off and measuring from the bottom to that tip of the harp. The harps snap off for easier shipping, and stand 19". The bases are a 5" marble square. Both lamps, of course work, and are in excellent condition. Thank you.
