"The Southwood Story: Southwood was founded in 1973 with the vision to become America's premier maker of authentic, museum-quality antique reproductions as well as a wide offering of traditional upholstered seating. This commitment for quality led to licensee agreements with important museum collections. Southwood believes that quality and craftsmanship can best be fostered in the intimacy of a small, personal "family company". The key ingredient in every piece is still the talent and skill of the individual who creates it. And Southwood is especially enriched with some of the furniture industry's most experienced craftsmen. Many are second-, third-, or fourth-generation furniture makers. These are people who care. People who take pride in their profession. Southwood demonstrates that "Excellence Still Exists".
