Presenting a Continental Silver Waxer with carrot shaped wax. The top of the early Victorian waxer is figural and has the shape of the top of a strawberry emery except half its size. The pattern of the bottom is leaf like and the stem with the attached ring is more than 1/2" long. I rarely get waxers as they went out of use after the 1860's and I believe were more easily discarded than other sewing tools but I have never had one that was figural. With the attached ring, this waxer could have been placed on a chatelaine with other sewing tools.
