Presenting an antique signed Meissen porcelain serpent handle cup and saucer. The shallow saucer and tucked in cup have a white base with a yellow and gold decoration with jeweled pinpoints. Sprays of tiny flowers are accented with heavy enameled paint and jeweled highlights. Subtle floral colors add to the decoration. The serpent's head clutches the top of the cup and the serpent's head is gilded with a heavy gold band down the middle and gold stripes on the side. Both the cup and saucer are marked. The saucer has a slash mark on the crossed swords and 3 gold dots which indicates that the decorating of the cup did not make the high grade of Meissen standards. The cup has no slash mark and 3 blue dots. I can see no defects in this cup and saucer and no wear to the gold or decorations. The cup stands approximately 2 3/4 inches at its tallest and measures 2 3/4" across. The shallow saucer measures almost 5 1/2" across and stands 1" at its tallest. Circa 1860
